Rental Information
Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) provides studio space for rent. BAC houses a total of 14,000 square feet of space. The four studios are located on the fourth and sixth floors. BAC studios are column-free, with sprung wood floors and high ceilings. Performance quality lighting and sound equipment are available upon request. Large windows provide southern and western views of Manhattan and New Jersey. BAC's studios are an ideal setting for rehearsals, showings, lectures, special events, auditions, and meetings/conferences.
Please note that in all cases, rentals of one week or more will take precedence over requested daily and hourly rentals.
Rehearsals/Auditions
Rehearsal space is offered Monday through Friday, 10 AM - 9PM, and Saturdays, 10AM - 5PM. To rent space for your rehearsals or auditions, please e-mail BACrental@bacnyc.org. Please include contact information, proposed date and time, which studio you are interested in, and any information on special requirements, if applicable (use of piano, tap, character, or flamenco shoes, etc). If you are holding auditions, please also let us know if they will be open or by invitation/pre-registration only, and how many people you are expecting. We will respond to all inquiries within 48 hours. If you are looking for space last minute, e-mail BACrental@bacnyc.org or call 646-731-3202. Rental requests with less than 48 hours notice qualify as last minute.
Performances/Showings
Space is available by special arrangement. Please e-mail completed Performance/Showing Rental Request Form to BACrental@bacnyc.org. Forms may also be faxed to: 646-731-3207.
Events
Event space is available by special arrangement. Please e-mail a completed Event Rental Request Form to BACrental@bacnyc.org at least 3 weeks prior to event date. We will respond within 48 hours. Forms may also be faxed to: 646-731-3207.
NYSCA Rate Rentals
With a generous Rehearsal Space Subsidy grant from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), BAC is able to offer the NYSCA rental rate of $10/hour to dance artists. All NYSCA rate inquiries must be in writing and will be honored on a first come, first served basis. Please e-mail a completed NYSCA Rental Request Form to BACrental@bacnyc.org.
